Sandy and Graham Goodsell bought their first house in France in 2001, and they started their small Gite business in 2004 when they fully retired.  Having spent many holidays in France dating back to the 70s they had a great deal of experience of the gite market.  This experience has led them to follow 2 guiding principles in their approach to running the gites.

The first is to make La Metairie Petite and La Vayssiere the best Gites on the market.  Their basic concept is to offer accommodation that is ‘home from home’; beds and bedding are of high quality, furnishings are extremely comforatble and the facilities offered throughout the house provide just about everything that a person could hope for in their own home.

The second principle is to provide an appropriate level of assistance to clients and to be on hand to offer help and advice throughout their stay.   But this assistance must be unobtrusive.   Consequently, there is a need to balance the requirement to be ‘on hand’ with the requirement to preserve client privacy.  To achieve this balance, Sandy and Graham strive to be invisible to clients unless their assistance is sought.  Moreover, as far as possible, pool and garden maintenance tasks are undertaken when clients are away from the property.

Judging from feedback the vast majority of clients thoroughly enjoy their holidays at La Metairie Petite and La Vayssiere, to the extent that a high proportion of all rentals arise from returning clients.
